Coi Leray is not impressed by Eminem’s name-drop on his new song “Doomsday Pt. 2”. The Detroit rapper released the track on Wednesday (January 26, 2024) as part of the Lyrical Lemonade album All Is Yellow, which also features Juice WRLD, Kid Cudi, Jack Harlow and more.
On the song, Eminem takes aim at his longtime rival Benzino, who is Coi Leray’s father, and also dismisses the possibility of collaborating with the “No More Parties” hitmaker. He raps:
I don’t care if you’re Benzino’s daughter or not / You’re not hot, you’re just a thot / You think I’d do a song with Coi Leray? / No way, I’d rather listen to Royce all day
Coi Leray caught wind of the diss and took to Twitter to share her reaction. She wrote:
Eminem mentioned me on his new song. It’s so stupid. He’s so old and bitter. He needs to grow up and stop hating on my dad. He’s just mad because I’m young and popping and he’s washed up and irrelevant.
She also added a laughing emoji and a hashtag #DoomsdayWho to mock the song’s title.
Coi Leray is not the only one who responded to Eminem’s diss. Benzino also fired back at his nemesis on Instagram, calling him a “racist” and a “culture vulture”. He wrote:
Eminem is a racist who has been exploiting black culture for decades. He’s a culture vulture who has no respect for the art form or the people who created it. He’s a coward who hides behind his mic and his security. He’s a bully who picks on women and children. He’s a clown who can’t handle the truth. He’s a joke who needs to retire and leave hip hop alone.
Benzino and Eminem have been feuding since the early 2000s, when Benzino was the co-owner of The Source magazine and accused Eminem of being a “rap Hitler” who was destroying the culture. Eminem responded with several diss tracks, such as “Nail In The Coffin” and “The Sauce”, which mocked Benzino’s rap skills and magazine sales.
The beef was reignited in 2020, when Benzino called out Eminem for dissing Snoop Dogg on his album Music To Be Murdered By – Side B. Eminem later explained that he was hurt by Snoop’s comments that he was not in his top 10 rappers of all time, and that he had no problem with him otherwise.
Coi Leray, meanwhile, has been making waves in the music industry with her viral songs and collaborations. She recently released a new single with Mike WiLL Made-It called “Grown & Sexy”, which is expected to appear on her upcoming debut album. She also received two nominations at the 2024 Grammy Awards for Best New Artist and Best Rap/Sung Performance for her hit “No More Parties (Remix)” with Lil Durk.
