LL Cool J is back—but this time, he’s not bringing bars, he’s bringing brains.
The legendary rapper and actor has just announced a new docuseries all about hip-hop. And no, it’s not just old heads sitting around talking about “back in my day.” LL’s bringing the history, the culture, and the real stories that shaped the game.

The series, called “The Evolution of Hip-Hop,” will air later this year and feature exclusive interviews with rap icons, behind-the-scenes stories, and never-before-seen footage. LL said it’s not just for fans of the old-school—he wants the younger generation to understand where the culture came from.
“Hip-hop didn’t just pop up outta nowhere,” LL said in a statement. “This is about showing love to the pioneers and educating the new wave.”
From the Bronx block parties to today’s viral hits, the show will cover it all. Expect to hear from legends like Run-DMC, Queen Latifah, Nas, and maybe even a few surprise guests from the new school.

People online are already hyped. One fan tweeted, “LL about to take us to school, and I’m sittin’ front row with my notebook ready.”
LL Cool J’s been in the game for decades—he’s a Rock & Roll Hall of Famer, the first rapper to win a Kennedy Center Honor, and still acting like it's nothing. Now, he’s adding “hip-hop historian” to the résumé.
So grab your popcorn, your notebook, and maybe your Kangol hat. Class is in session—and Professor Cool J is teachin’.
